Who is simplerich?
I’m a guy that’s been online since the mid-90s. I didn’t try my hand at building websites until the late ’90s and was promptly hacked by a script kiddie with a key-logger that sort of tricked the ppl who ran my isp at the time into logging onto a machine he was key-logging at the time. Pay a visit to the wayback machine for details.
My first blog was back before there were blogs (February 28, 1999 was the first post). I was quitting smoking and keeping an online journal of the experience. It got me an interview on BBC2 which was pretty cool. I have a video file on CD somewhere at the house. I should post it some day.
I’m an upper management type for a small chain of retail stores. It’s been what I do for over a decade at different levels. Management is my favorite job. I like it when it’s hard, hate it when it’s impossible, and love it when it’s challenging but I still get to sleep at night.
I’m a writer, an author even. I’m an amateur photographer (with digital cameras). I like to build computers from the motherboard up. I like to read. I like to watch movies in theaters and at home on DVD. I like to cook. I like to listen to audiobooks while I drive (mostly for work).
I blog and I sometimes say useful helpful things, and sometimes it’s just me ranting, and sometimes it’s just me babbling about what’s going on in my life. It’s sort of a notebook for me to keep track of things I’ll want later combined with a journal, combined with a sort of letter to all my friends at once. I like reading other blogs. I like looking at photoblogs. Little voyeuristic glimpses into other people’s lives are fun. And some of the blogs out there are from people I admire.
