Writing

I started writing for the Internet back in 1999 over on alt.games.diablo. I wrote fan-fiction. Stories based on the computer game Diablo and posted in the newsgroup. A newsgroup was, back then, sort of a message board where people would hang out. It was like a forum, but nothing like that. If you’ve never been there don’t go now. Usenet’s turned hinky. But back then… back then in the dial-up days it was awesome sauce with a side of total geek cred.

Anyway. I wrote fan-fiction based on the game Diablo and since the Internet is made up of computers and computers are made to remember things, and not forget them, I’ve dug up some of those stories and will be posting them here in a fanfic section. They’re not great works of art or anything, but they were mine and they were fun, and they were shared with people I cared about and still wonder about. Some of them I’ve stayed in touch with, met in real life, and talk with to this day on the phone and face to face. Some have vanished softly and silently away and I just wonder about them and hope they’re OK and that things have turned out OK for them. I’m looking at YOU Time Goddess, Silverraven, Dysentery Bob and Skee Daddle and the rest (hat tip to Gilligan’s Island there.)

The fan-fiction, in no particular order will follow:

An Ear
Archangel
Was it Worth it?

Other miscellaneous vignettes are:
The Jar
The Stadium
